Meet the faces behind The Chester Link
Every day, our team brings experience and dedication to support adults with learning disabilities and autism to live full, independent lives. From our Board of Trustees to the management team and support staff, each person plays a part in making The Chester Link a place built on trust, person centred care.
Anna Maclese
My background is in primary education and a range of social care settings including supporting young people living in care and being Deputy Manager of a residential home for older people. I owned a ‘Kumon Maths’ franchise for seven years and specialised in developing the literacy and numeracy skills of struggling and disillusioned students.
I have worked for The Chester Link since 2002, initially as a Support Worker, Senior Support Worker, Team Leader and have been the Service Manager and Chief Officer since 2012.
I really enjoy the challenges and variety of the Chief Officer role. I am passionate about leading the staff teams to provide the best support and housing for our service users to enable them to develop their skills and independence, and experience new and interesting opportunities in their lives.
Cate Glover
I have worked within the field of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities for over 20 years.
I joined The Chester Link in 2003 as a support worker. I worked my way up to becoming a Team Leader, and after a few years I became the Care Co-ordinator.
Lesley Williams
I am an experienced manager with a professional background spanning Financial Services, HR, the charity sector, Social Housing, and Domestic Abuse services. Over the past 16 years, I have worked directly with vulnerable adults and families facing complex challenges including trauma, homelessness, substance misuse, and domestic abuse, supporting men, women, and children to rebuild safer and more independent lives.
I bring a strong combination of operational, people-management, and frontline support experience, with expertise across service delivery, staff leadership, compliance, and organisational management. My qualifications include a range of management certifications, the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, IOSH certification, and a Diploma in Health & Social Care.
In this role, I work alongside the Chief Officer and Care Co-ordinator to oversee the delivery of high-quality care and support services. I am committed to ensuring services not only meet but exceed CQC Fundamental Standards, while empowering individuals to live with dignity, independence, and choice wherever possible.
Charlotte Bunton-Deer
I am the Housing Co-Ordinator for The Chester Link. I have worked in social care since 2016 and have a first class honours degree in Health and Social Care. I have worked for The Chester Link since 2020, as part of my job I am responsible for ensuring that all properties are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe, comfortable environment for tenants. I work closely with contractors, coordinating and overseeing maintenance and repair work to make sure it is completed efficiently and to a consistently high quality.
A key part of my role involves regularly inspecting properties to confirm they are safe, compliant, and well‑maintained. I also take the lead on health and safety across the organisation, managing policies, procedures, and risk assessments to ensure best practice is consistently followed. I oversee budgets related to property maintenance and operations, ensuring resources are used effectively while maintaining quality standards.
I also serve as the company’s Digital Leader, managing in‑house technology and systems, and providing support and guidance to staff to ensure they can confidently and effectively use these tools.
I also hold the role of Deputy Data Security and Protection Lead, supporting the organisation in maintaining strong data protection practices and safeguarding sensitive information.
Through my wide‑ranging responsibilities it is key to uphold high standards, while creating a safe, efficient, and supportive environment for tenants and colleagues.
Lorna Cooper
I have an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from University of Chester and a Postgraduate Degree in Family and Child Psychology as well as a level 5 Diploma is Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care.
I started working for The Chester Link in June 2018, this was my first job in the social care sector and I was employed as a support worker which I did alongside my studies. Over the years I have worked in several different roles with Chester Link, including Team Leader, Housing Co-Ordinator and now as Staff Co-ordinator. My role includes managing staff Annual Leave, monitoring the completion of staffing rotas and ensuring safe staffing levels and service user satisfaction in their staff.

I complete all recruitment and onboarding of new staff as well as manage staff payroll each month. I also supervise and appraise a share of our staff team to make sure that not only are our service users are happy, but our staff are as well.
Hannah Sayer-Anderson
I am the Training Co-Ordinator responsible for training and development of our staff at the Chester Link. With over two decades of experience within the care industry both professionally and personally, I discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring others.
I decided to qualify as a teacher in 2017 and spent the next 4 years teaching individuals in the care industry how to effectively care for others. During this time, I gained recognition for my successful teaching practice by receiving an OFSTED grade 1 outstanding observation and student of the year whist completing my Certificate of Education.
Alongside teaching I am passionate about Care Quality standards and ensuring that staff understand the importance of the Care Quality Commission and delivering a high standard of care for service users. I completed my Internal Quality Assurance qualification in 2019 and apply this to my current role at the Chester Link. My standards are extremely high and I facilitate ongoing pastoral and developmental support to ensure staff are following our high standards. The care certificate in an integral part of this and I facilitate developmental observations before staff are signed off as competent during their induction.
An open door policy is extremely important to me. Staff need to feel as though they can approach me at any time and can talk openly. I am passionate about developing relationships and supporting others in this area.

At The Chester Link, we have a dedicated team of over 50 incredible staff working across full time, part time and relief roles. Our service is led by a skilled management team including our Registered Manager, Care Co-ordinator, Staff Co-ordinator, Housing Co-ordinator, Training Co-Ordinator and Lead Support Workers, supported by our Chief Officer, Administrator and Bookkeeper. What truly sets us apart is our people. Our staff are supportive, passionate and committed to making a real difference every day. They take pride in their work and continually strive to be the best they can be.
Investing in our team
We invest in our staff from day one. All new team members complete an enhanced DBS check, a full induction and the opportunity to shadow experienced colleagues. We actively support staff to gain recognised Health and Social Care qualifications and offer ongoing training in areas such as Autism, Dementia Awareness, Mental Health Awareness and leadership. You'll complete the Care Certificate and all mandatory training, including:

The work that makes a real difference
We provide induction training and will support staff new to the sector through the Care Certificate. This post requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring service check, two references and a right to work check. The Chester Link meets the cost of the DBS check for suitable applicants.

Being there for people at home
Support service users at home and in their local community with all aspects of their lives, including personal care, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe and well supported at all times.
Helping with the everyday essentials
Support service users with everyday household tasks including shopping, cooking and cleaning, helping them to develop their independence and take pride in their home.
Keeping everyone safe and secure
You will carry out regular health and safety checks across the service, helping to ensure that all environments are safe, clean and well maintained for everyone who lives and works there.
Helping people get out and about
A driver is preferred for day staff, as some service users use their own cars to access the community, enabling them to get out, stay active and take part in the things they enjoy.
